Canada National Strike
Update: Effective October 11, 2025, Canada Post and the CUPW moved from a full, national strike to rotating strikes. Postal services will start resuming next week, but delays should still be expected due to uncertainty and instability. Read more.
Effective October 27, 2025, GlobalPost will reinstate normal routing for all services, including the Global Advantage Program (GAP). Other updates include:
- – Our Canada DDP feature will be reinstated.
- – When shipping with GlobalPost DDU services, we’ll revert to the standard billing format, meaning you’ll no longer be responsible for any assessed duties and taxes.
Effective September 26, 2025, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has launched a nationwide strike. During the strike, Canada Post will not process or deliver any mail or packages, including to P.O. boxes, so shippers should expect delays.
To continue shipping to Canada, all GlobalPost services will remain available for use during this time, and the Global Advantage Program (GAP), powered by GlobalPost, will continue to operate. We are making temporary adjustments to our network to manage the impact and continue providing reliable service.
GlobalPost service updates effective September 26, 2025:
- – We recommend shipping to Canada with GlobalPost Plus, our Delivered Duties Paid service.
- – Please note our Canada DDP feature will be temporarily unavailable
- – When shipping with GlobalPost services during this time, you will be responsible for assessed Duties and Taxes to ensure disruption-free delivery. These fees will be billed directly to you.
- – GlobalPost will not be able to deliver to Canadian P.O. Boxes and certain rural locations that rely on delivery through Canada Post.
- – Remember to provide accurate descriptions, correct HS codes and selling URLs in your customs details.
